8 yrs Anniversary of A. Grigoropoulos

The 2008 Greek riots started on 6 December 2008, when Alexandros Grigoropoulos, a 15-year-old Greek student, was killed by two special officers in Exarcheia district of central Athens  .

Ομάδες αντιεξουσιαστών πετούσαν βόμβες μολότοφ και φωτοβολίδες εναντίον των αστυνομικών δυνάμεων ενώ, αυξήθηκαν τα οδοφράγματα που έχουν στήσει στην περιοχή. Τα ΜΑΤ «απάντησαν» με περιορισμένη χρήση χημικών και χειροβομβίδες κρότου λάμψης.

Σε πεδίο μάχης μετατράπηκε η περιοχή γύρω από το Πολυτεχνείο, καθώς άγνωστοι έριξαν βόμβες μολότοφ και πέταξαν πέτρες και ξύλα σε αστυνομικές δυνάμεις, οι οποίες απάντησαν με κροτίδες κρότου λάμψης και χημικά.

Νύχτα έντασης με οδομαχίες, ρίψεις μολότοφ και χημικών ήταν η χθεσινή, στο κέντρο της Αθήνας.Όλα ξεκίνησαν λίγα λεπτά μετά τις 22.00 το βράδυ της Τετάρτης, όταν ομάδα νεαρών έριξε μολότοφ σε διμοιρίες των ΜΑΤ που βρίσκονταν στην περιοχή, ενώ έβαλε φωτιά σε κάδους απορριμμάτων.
Οι περίπου 100 νεαροί παρέμειναν μέχρι τις πρώτες πρωινές ώρες μέσα στο Πολυτεχνείο, απ' όπου κατά διαστήματα έβγαιναν και πετούσαν αντικείμενα προς τους αστυνομικούς.
Οι δυνάμεις των ΜΑΤ απάντησαν με εκτεταμένη χρήση χημικών.
